Polyester Mica Tape is a fire-resistant insulation composite material composed of mica sheet as the insulation core, polyester film (PET) as the reinforcing substrate, and adhesive composite. It is the core insulation material for motors, cables, and transformers. The core is divided into four categories: insulation, fire-resistant, protective, and process adaptation
1、 Basic electrical insulation function (core function)
Main insulation isolation, blocking conductive circuits
Mica itself has extremely high breakdown voltage resistance, coupled with a double-layer insulation structure of polyester film, which isolates conductors from iron cores, conductor phases, and conductors to ground, preventing winding short circuits and leakage, greatly improving electrical safety margins.
High voltage resistance and corona resistance
Capable of withstanding high power frequency voltage and pulse frequency conversion voltage, suppressing corona corrosion caused by motor operation, and adapting to insulation of winding for frequency converter driven motors, high-voltage motors, and new energy motors.
Low dielectric loss and stable electrical performance
Under high temperature conditions, the fluctuation of dielectric loss is small, and long-term operation will not cause rapid aging and failure, ensuring long-term insulation stability of the equipment.
2、 High temperature and fire resistance (unique advantage of mica)
High temperature non melting, continuous insulation
Polyester film can withstand long-term working temperatures of 130-180 ℃; Mica flakes have a melting point of over 1200 ℃ and will not melt or drip when exposed to open flames. They are non-conductive and can maintain the integrity of the insulation layer even in a fire environment.
Fire resistant and smooth, ensuring emergency power supply
After winding fire-resistant cables and fire motors, they can maintain power for more than 90 minutes in case of fire, meeting the mandatory fire-resistant standards for fire pumps, smoke exhaust fans, and emergency power supply equipment.
Under long-term heating conditions, the motor winding is less prone to powdering and cracking, delaying the aging of the insulation layer and reducing the equipment repair failure rate.
3、 Mechanical protection and structural reinforcement function
Polyester film enhances overall strength
Pure mica flakes are brittle and easily breakable, with PET polyester film as the backing, greatly improving tensile strength and tear resistance, and not easily damaged during wrapping processing.
Buffer and shock absorption to resist mechanical wear and tear
When the motor winding is embedded and vibrating during operation, buffer the friction of the wire and the compression of the iron core to avoid scratching and damaging the paint film of the wire.
Seal and block, isolate water vapor and oil stains
The dense composite structure blocks moisture, lubricating oil, and dust from entering the interior of the winding, preventing oxidation of metal conductors and insulation from being damaged by moisture.
4、 Process adaptation and processing assistance
Good wrapping adhesion
The texture is flexible and can tightly wrap round wires, flat copper wires, and motor stator coils. It fits the conductor without gaps, improving the immersion effect of paint.
Suitable for immersion paint curing process
Adhesive has good compatibility with insulating paint, and after immersion, it solidifies as a whole, forming a complete composite insulation system without delamination or peeling problems.
Cutting and high-speed wrapping adaptation
Polyester substrate has strong toughness and supports continuous production of narrowband slitting and high-speed automatic winding equipment, which is not easy to break and improves the efficiency of wire harness processing.
