Polyimide film mica tape is a composite industrial tape consisting of three parts.It is a type of wrapped insulation material used for the insulation of coils in high-voltage motors and generators. Its structure is similar to that of polyester mica tape, but the key difference is that the reinforcing material is replaced by polyimide film instead of polyester film.Polyimide film is one of the best-performing organic films in the world today, with a long-term operating temperature exceeding 220°C. This allows polyimide mica tape with low adhesive powder content to achieve insulation levels of Class C (220°C) or Class H (180°C), far exceeding the Class F (155°C) insulation level of polyester tape.Polyimide film itself also has very high dielectric strength and insulation resistance. The combination of the two results in extremely reliable electrical properties. Polyimide film has extremely high tensile strength, approximately twice that of polyester film.
