The core characteristics of Unidirectional Glass Fiber Tapes are that the fiberglass fibers are arranged in a single direction along the length, without interweaving. The tensile strength and modulus along the fiber axis are much higher than those of plain weave fiberglass cloth. It is lightweight and corrosion-resistant, and is specifically used for directional reinforcement of unidirectional load-bearing structures. It is divided into two categories: dry UD fiberglass tape (hand pasted composite) and pre impregnated unidirectional fiberglass tape (thermoplastic/thermosetting), covering six core industries:
1、 Wind turbine blades (maximum usage scenario)
Wind turbine blades mainly bear bending and tensile loads along the length of the blade, and are the core market for unidirectional fiberglass tapes
The main reinforcement layer of the blade main beam (main beam, beam cap) is covered with multiple layers of UD strips along the length of the blade profile to enhance the bending stiffness and fatigue resistance of the blade;
Strengthening the blade root and web reinforcement section to counteract the huge pulling force of the fan rotation;
Repair blade cracks and leading edge wear, locally wrap and reinforce, and delay crack propagation;
Advantages: Compared to woven fabrics, it can reduce weight and resin usage under the same strength, and is suitable for large sea blades of up to 100 meters.
2、 Strengthening and repairing of building infrastructure
Used for directional reinforcement of concrete, steel structures, bridges, replacing steel plate reinforcement, anti-corrosion and lightweight:
Reinforcement of bridge box girders, bridge piers, and factory beams and columns: Paste UD fiberglass tape and epoxy resin along the direction of component tension to enhance bending and seismic bearing capacity;
Renovation of old buildings, repair of shear wall cracks, and suppression of crack propagation;
Partial reinforcement of pipelines and storage tanks: chemical fiberglass pipelines and sewage pipes are wrapped axially to enhance pressure resistance and repair corrosion and thin-walled defects;
Wooden house beams and keels are reinforced to prevent moisture, insects, and corrosion.
3、 New energy&automotive lightweighting (mainly based on thermoplastic prepreg UD tape)
1) New energy vehicles
The battery pack shell, anti-collision beam, and chassis longitudinal beam are locally oriented and reinforced, resulting in lightweight and improved endurance;
Composite material substrates for car doors, bumpers, dashboard frames, and luggage racks;
Hydrogen storage cylinders and high-pressure pipelines are wrapped and reinforced, resistant to high pressure and corrosion.
2) Energy storage/photovoltaic
Composite reinforcement of photovoltaic frame, bracket, and energy storage equipment shell; Photovoltaic supporting fiberglass profile extrusion main material.
4、 Ships, yachts, and fiberglass products
Directional reinforcement of the ship's keel, sides, and deck main beams to resist longitudinal tension from waves;
Yacht masts, surfboards, oars, and fiberglass pipes are wrapped and formed;
Partial reinforcement of liner for marine storage tanks and seawater desalination equipment, resistant to seawater salt corrosion;
Special reinforcement belts for the production of fiberglass molds, grilles, and extruded profiles.
5、 Aerospace and Rail Transit (S Fiberglass Unidirectional Tape)
Aircraft secondary structure: directional weight reduction and enhancement of fuselage beams, wing ribs, and interior panels;
Reinforcement of composite components for high-speed rail carriages, subway bodies, and bogies to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle and energy consumption;

6、 Sports and leisure equipment
All products are mainly subjected to unidirectional force, and UD belt accurately matches the load direction:
Skateboards, longboards, and surfboards have longitudinally reinforced bottom plates that are not easily broken;
Hockey sticks, badminton rackets, fishing rods, and hiking poles are made of base materials;
Partial reinforcement of bow and arrow blades and bicycle frames.
Oil and gas, chemical, and water supply and drainage pipeline repair tape: Wrap along the axis of the pipeline to repair cracks and corrosion points, and replace the pipeline without excavation;
The weak parts of the reaction kettle and acid pickling tank are locally reinforced to resist acid and alkali corrosion;

8、 Fiberglass tape for electrical insulation and high-temperature sealing (coated unidirectional tape)
The motor and transformer coils are wrapped with insulation, with unidirectional tape that is resistant to tension and not easily broken, and high-temperature insulation;
High temperature pipelines and valve flanges are insulated and wrapped for thermal insulation and fire prevention;
Cable fireproof wrapping, fireproof sealing substrate for penetrating holes.
