Diamond Dotted Paper is a key insulation material for power transformers, consisting of interlayer insulation of oil immersed transformer coils, high-temperature self-adhesive fixation, oil conducting exhaust, and anti corona.
1、 Core role (transformer scenario)
Interlayer/turn insulation (foundation)
Placed between the high and low voltage coils, layers, and turns of the transformer, isolating conductive copper bars/wires to prevent short circuits and breakdowns, with a withstand voltage of up to 5kV and insulation level A (105 ℃).
High temperature self-adhesive molding (most critical)
Dry non stick at room temperature; At 90-120 ℃, the diamond shaped epoxy point melts → cools and solidifies, bonding the layers of the coil into a rigid whole.
Anti short circuit: The coil does not shift, deform, or fall apart in the event of a sudden short circuit.
Vibration resistance: prevent loosening and wear during operation and transportation.
Oil guide+exhaust (life guarantee)
The grid gaps between the diamond shaped points allow the insulating oil to flow and permeate freely, while expelling internal bubbles:
Heat dissipation: Oil circulation takes away heat and reduces coil temperature rise.
Prevent partial discharge: no bubbles → reduce corona/partial discharge, extend insulation life.
Mechanical reinforcement+tear resistance
High purity sulfate wood pulp substrate, with high strength and good toughness, is not easily broken during winding, and supports the coil structure.
Oil resistant+stable
After curing, epoxy has good compatibility with transformer oil, does not swell or decompose, and has stable long-term performance.
2、 Other uses
High voltage motor and electrical anti corona isolation layer.
Cable shielding layer isolation insulation.
The interlayer insulation and fixation of high-end windings and reactors.
